Would you like to improve your photography without relying on your camera's auto settings?
I run a three-part course teaching you basic concepts of photography. A mixture of theory and practical exercises are used to get you started in the exciting world of photography.
For those of you that have picked up photography as a hobby, or wish to, and want to understand how to use the controls on your camera. You may be a newcomer or an experienced beginner who wishes to learn the foundations of good photography.
This course will teach you how to get the best out of your camera giving you a solid foundation. Basic concepts such as shutter speed, aperture, and depth of field are covered. The course is split into three parts which runs over 2 consecutive weeks. It starts with an evening session, then one afternoon on location where you can practice your skills, followed by another evening session. Course numbers are kept small so that you can receive individual guidance and feedback on your personal work.

Following on from the beginner course, or if you are comfortable with the basics, I run a two-part intermediate course. This looks at the creative side of photography teaching you about the art of seeing to expand on your visual skills.
You do not have to attend the beginner course to book on this course if you feel you have enough experience. Please call me if you are unsure which level is most appropriate for you.
If you are interested in this course then please let me know and we will then set some dates.
Digital Workflow using Adobe Elements 6/Photoshop CSx
In this one day course I will talk you through technical terms such as resolution, histogram, RAW, and demonstrate how to up-load, edit, organise, archive and print your images. This will give you the knowledge and confidence to set up your own digital workflow.
I have received some requests for running a beginner course specifically for children. My existing beginner course is suitable for anyone aged about 14 and above, and I would like to run a course specifically for children aged from about 8-13 years. If you would be interested in this then please let me know.
For the more advanced photographer I am running a series of specialised workshops on topics such as night, flash, landscape, close up photography and more.
Please feel free to let me know if there is a particular subject you are interested in.
For both beginners and advanced I will be running traditional darkroom workshops covering the basics on using black & white film and darkroom printing as well as advanced and alternative printing techniques.
